Obituary of Donald Lloyd Hornsby

Donald Lloyd Hornsby passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 60, on December 17th, after suffering from a long battle with Crohn's Disease.

Donald was a proud father, an avid photographer, traveller, and loved his music loud and live. Donald had a passion for music that also included his DJ services for many weddings, family gatherings & parties.  Donald worked most of his working career in the food industry, Donald was devoted to his career with Tim Hortons as a general manager for over 25 years. 

Donald was in the process of completing his accounting diploma at NSCC, he studied hard and excelled throughout his studies while battling crohn's disease. 

Donald survived by his wife of 36 years Lieann McDermott; his children Sarah Hornsby and Joshua Hornsby(Chasitie McCarthy), and his very loved pug Maggie; his mother Patricia Hornsby (Sydney Mines); his brothers, Jeffery Hornsby and Jimmy Hornsby; he is predeceased by his father Ronald Hornsby(Amherst); Mother in-law Barbara McDermott; Brother in-law Dyrick McDermott; and many other family members who he cherished. 

Many thanks to the dedicated staff at the Victoria General Hospital ICU unit for what they did for him.

Arrangements are under the care of J.Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. In keeping with Donald’s wishes there will be a visitation on Thursday December 22,2022 at 10am-12 pm. Followed by a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. A burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
