Obituary of Wayne Rodney MacRae

Age 62, formerly of Harrietsfield, passed away peacefully with his sister Betty at his side in Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey, B.C. on September 1, 2016. Born and raised in Harrietsfield, he was the only son of the late Francis James and Mabel Mary (Dugas) MacRae. He is survived by his son Rodney James, Halifax; daughter, Tara-Lee Ann (Darcy), Riverview, NB; grandchildren, Brooke Mary, Samuel Adam, Xavier Leaton and Zachary Owen; sisters, Theresa MacRae (Mike), Porter’s Lake; Golda Redden (Grant), Halifax; Judy Ettinger, (Eugene), Poplar Grove; Christine MacRae (Gordon), Dartmouth; June Ann Bohnet (Pete), Dartmouth; Betty Elliott (Bill), Langley, BC; brother-in-law, Joe Buckland; several nieces and nephews forming three generations. He was predeceased by sisters, Linda Mary Buckland, Noel MacRae, Martha MacRae in infancy; nephews, Donald and Martin; niece, Olivia; brother-in-laws, Bill Elliott, Mike McEachern, Grant Redden and Gordon Crowe. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In abiding with Wayne’s wishes there will be no visitation and he will be laid to rest with his father in the Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville during a graveside service on October 17 at 2:30 p.m. Donations can be made to the SPCA in memory of his cat Fluffy. Thank you to everyone who cared for him during his last day and helped to carry out his last wishes.
