Obituary of Nancy Bernice Oakley

OAKLEY, Nancy Bernice – Age 81, of Halifax, passed away on Tuesday, January 17^th, 2023, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Estella Mae Davis (Boutilier) Oakley.

Nancy loved listening to the old country and western music on the radio, playing crazy eights, going to church services, shopping, playing bingo at Northwood, bus trips with Northwood along the South Shore, and a great meal of lasagna. Nancy can now join her mom in Heaven in peace and tranquility.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Nancy Lindanger (Troy Rogers); son, Holger Harald Lindanger; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Klara Curran (Kaylin Mouland); brothers, Thomas Oakley and Michael Oakley; sister, Rosalie Maro; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Sylvia Murray, Julia Crawford and Barbara Bezanson; brothers, Everett Oakley, Joseph Oakley, James Oakley, and Gordon Oakley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. In keeping with Nancy’s wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 27 ^th, 2023, at 2pm in the funeral home Chapel with a reception to follow. A burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 8.4 of the QEII and nurses at Northwood, especially Siju Mathew (Edward).
