Obituary of Patricia Louise Baker

BAKER, Patricia “Pat” Louise (Carrigan)- Age 83 of Halifax It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Baker, surrounded by family and her cat Gabby in her home on January 28, 2023. Pat was born in Halifax and she was a daughter of the late Frank and Alda (Milner)Carrigan.

Along with raising her family, she spent several years working at the Holiday Inn. She enjoyed many trips with her family, especially the annual Falls Lake family reunions. Hobbies included knitting, darts, bowling, choir and bingo. She was a long-standing member of the “Young at Heart Club” at the Spryfield Golden Age Center.

Pat is lovingly remembered by daughters, Debbie (Corne) Verstraten, Sharon (Donnie) Royale, Cathy (Kenny) Allen, Charlene (Josh) Galloway, Darlene (Brad) Hartlen; sons, Ray (Shelley) and Walter (Chantal); She was a proud Nan to 16 grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Shawna, Todd, Troy, Mark, Marcel, Nicole,

Courtney, Logan, Ryan, Rachel, Emily, Jacob, Bradley and Nathan; Great Gran Nan to 10 great grandchildren, Lucas, Jade, Theo, Avery, Andrew, Ayano, Chelsey, Lucas, Crystal-Dawn and Brady; She was also survived by sisters-in-law, Ann Carrigan, Deanna Baker and Dorothy Baker; devoted friend Joyce Martel; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Pat was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Russell; siblings, Gordon, Rita, Jeannie, Dot, Joyce and Ronnie.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, N.S.  In keeping with Patricia’s wishes a visitation will take place on Thursday, February 2^nd 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place Friday, February 3^rd at 11:00 am at J. Albert Walker’s Funeral Home chapel. Private family burial immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pats memory can be made to Young at Heart Club or Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
