Obituary of Calvin Wayne Ossinger

OSSINGER, Calvin Wayne - Age 64 of New Ross, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Calvin Wayne Ossinger of Wallaback Lake on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at home.  Born in Halifax, Calvin was a son of the late Ernest and Regina (Smith) Ossinger.  Calvin worked with his best friend (Brother from another mother) Eddie Weaver at J. E. Weaver Enterprises for 38 years at which he loved his job and who he worked with. Calvin was so admired by Eddie Weaver who cannot thank him enough for all his loyalty, honesty, integrity and life lessons.   Calvin lived life to the fullest, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family which brought him great joy. Calvin lived life his way, full of fun, love and many adventures.  Calvin was well known as the baby whisperer for all.  Calvin had many dear friends that adored him and enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Susan Ossinger of 27 Years; sons, Wayne (Kristen) and Sherman; grandchildren, Isabella, Jacklyn and Hunter; brothers, Ernest (Irene), Michael (Debbie), and Alan (Judy); sister, Sharon (Stephen); many loved nieces and nephews.  Calvin was predeceased by his sister, Jan.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.  In keeping with Calvin’s wishes there will be a visitation held Monday February 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family at idog58@hotmail.com
