Obituary of Herbert Wayne Isenor

ISENOR, Herbert “Herb” Wayne- Age 76 of Bridgewater NS, passed away with his children by his side in the Cardiac Unit at Halifax Infirmary on February 2, 2023 due to congestive heart failure. Born March 16, 1947, He is a son of the late George and Ruth McCarthy. Herb’s early days were spent working in the tobacco fields of Tillsonburg, ON until he returned to Bridgewater where he spent most of his working years with Department of Transportation. Anyone who knew him, would say he loved to have fun and often played by his own rules. He loved to hunt, day and night, and would always have a story about how the “big one” got away. Every summer he looked forward to the South Shore Exhibition and could be found on the bleachers watching a good horse or ox pull. While rough around the edges, he had a big heart and always tried to find his way to help others.  A huge thank you to the South Shore Regional ICU team and the Halifax Infirmary Cardiac team for their kindness and compassion.

Herb is survived by his son, Chris; daughter, Trena; grandchildren Sarah and Callum who he loved dearly; sister, Margo. He was predeceased by sisters, Betty and Marilyn; brother, Richard.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. In keeping with Herb’s wishes there will be no visitation.  A private gathering with close family and friends will be held to celebrate his life.
