Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Eisenhauer

July 15th, 1952 a new star was born.  That star was our mother, our best friend, and our world.  For all of her life, that star shined brighter and brighter, shedding, love, light and warmth on whomever looked at her.  That one star you could always count on being there, that one star that would show you the way on the darkest of nights.  That star was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 and 70 years later, that star had to go to shine brighter than ever before.

With sadness in our hearts, Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Halifax Infirmary.  Mary was born and raised in Halifax, NS, where she met the love of her life, Russell, who she then later married.  Together they settled in Harrietsfield, where they created a loving family, raising three children.  Before having her family, Mary enjoyed working for the Department of Motor Vehicles.  She then chose to stay home and raise her children, also having taken many other children under her wing as a daycare provider.  Mary was an exceptional wife and mother.  She cared deeply for her family and everyone she knew.  She was a special soul who lit up any room she entered.  After she happily raised her children, Mary went back to work at the Excel Program at Harrietsfield Elementary  School.  On her own time, she volunteered as a Beaver Leader and so much more.  She loved every single child that crossed her path and always made every one of them feel special and loved.  Everyone who knew Mary knew she was full of life and adored her for who she was.

Mary was truly the shining star of the family and will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all, especially her loving husband, Russell, her daughter, Paula (Jason), her sons, Shawn (Amanda) and Dennis (Shelley), as well as her grandchildren, Aurora, Kaylyn “Little Bird”, Logan, Phillip, Leaton, and Zoe.  She is also survived by her brothers, Patrick and Vincent.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service held at a later date.  In memory of Mary, please send donations to Hope for Wildlife.
