Obituary of Brenda Lucille Lewis

Brenda Lucille Claire (Veinot) Lewis passed away on March 20, 2023 at the QEII, New Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS.  Born January 9, 1940, in Bridgewater, NS, she was the daughter of the late Lula and Darrell Veinot.  Brenda was an avid Mooseheads fan.  She followed the team until she had to watch them on TV or listen to the games on the radio.  She loved to go to Stockcar races.  John Flemming was her hero.    Brenda is survived by her daughter, Sheila Higgins (Jim), and her son, Shawn Lewis (Laura), her companion and love of her life, Gerard Doucette, her treasured grandchildren, Shane (Michele), Jimmy (Tasha), and Stephany (Liam), great-grandchildren, Dante, Jade, Hunter, and Aidan, as well as one great-great-grandson, Saion.  She is also survived by two brothers, Vernon Veinot (Betty) and Fred Veinot, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.  She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Richard, sister, Altheaa, her granddaughter, Nicole Higgins, and a sister-in-law, Janette. 

Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 6-9 PM.  A service of remembrance will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11 AM, with a reception to follow.  A private family interment will take place at Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville, NS.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of one’s choice.
