Obituary of Kathleen Matilda Arthur

ARTHUR, Kathleen “Mamoo” (Juteau)- Age 89 of Williamswood, it is with great sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mamoo on May 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Juteau and Emmaline Gosine. 

   Kathleen was the loving wife and best friend of 33 years to her late husband, Matthew Arthur.  Kathleen and Matt love spending all their time together, travelling often in their truck or by motorcycle.   They loved their pets, especially their parrots. Kathleen had a passion for puzzles and a real love for flowers. Kathleen (fondly known as “Mamoo”) spent her life dedicated to raising her family. Her favourite pastime was being with her large family and watching everyone on the lake on a nice summer day. 

  Kathleen is survived by her loving children, Jimmy (Donna) Doyle; Susan (Phillip) Payne, Ralph (Elizabeth) Doyle, Michael (Heather) Doyle, and Nancy (Greg) Lynch; 11 grandchildren;15 great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Juteau and Bill (Anne) Juteau; her loving fur baby Bella, who she cared for whenever the opportunity arose.  Kathleen was predeceased by her best friend and loving husband, Matthew Victor Arthur; son, Paul Doyle; sisters, Marie Oakley, and Rose Juteau.

The family would like to thank VON and Closing the Gap, who helped them with Kathleen’s care these past few months and allowing her to remain at her home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.  In keeping with Kathleen’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  A funeral service will take place Friday May 12, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home Chapel, followed by a reception.  A burial will take place at Oakridge Memorial Gardens.  To place online condolences, please visit www.walkerfh.com
