Obituary of Carol Anne Jean White
78, Spryfield, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Melville Lodge, Halifax, NS. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Varia (Murphy) Parsons.
In her younger years, Carol had worked at Moir’s Chocolate Factory and then went on to work at Sears.
Carol was the definition of a mother and grandmother, her family meant everything to her. One her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, she loved them dearly and always looked forward to their visits. When her children were young, Carol took them everywhere they needed to go without hesitation. She will lovingly be remembered as being the best Mom ever. For many years, Carol taught figure skating at the Spryfield Rink. She was proud to be a member of the Spryfield Lioness Club.
Carol will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Carl, her treasured son, Barry (Kim), her cherished daughters, Darlene (Glen) and Cheryl (Eddy). Affectionately known as “Nan” or “Nanny”, she is survived by her grandchildren, Jason (Alicia), Carlie, Travis, Mason (Tiffany), Tyler (Robin), Haley and Chase, as well her great-grandchildren, Hunter, Piper, Brayden, Sky, Jordan and Kaden. She is also survived by sisters, Blossom, Nancy, Shirley and Betty-Lou (Bill), a brother, Doug, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Stewart “Sonny” Parsons.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thankyou to all the staff and nurses at Melville Lodge for their care and compassion given to Carol.
By request, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where a private family service will be held, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery.
