Sarah and family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. Gordon and Sarah have been tenants at Anchor Living for many years and highly thought of and respected by not only fellow residents but the entire staff of Anchor Living. I have had many enjoyable chit-chats and laughs with Gordon when he would come into the office to renew his gym membership or to simply have a good ole' gab of which I always thoroughly enjoyed and will cherish. Gordon will be missed by many.

Gord Durnford (Uncle Gord) and my namesake. I don't know where to start, only where to end. There are so many things that can be said about Gord. A man who, in my childhood years, brought his family to Louisbourg on many occasions to visit his sister (my mom) Mary Skinner. Who called her every Sunday to check in even up to his illness. To the Durnfords who opened up their home to me when I went to college in Halifax, and treated me like one of their own, my heart weeps for you. Uncle Gord was a warm and generous man with a great sense of humor and great sense of family. A principled man with the softest of hearts. Never an "ass groove" in his chair, because he never sat in it long enough to make one (he'd appreciate that comment). It was tough to visit him in the hospital, but like Gord, I think he sensed my unease and started chatting it up about (what else) family. Not just his family, but my family as well. That's why it was so easy to love the man. I will miss him dearly.

I'm sorry for the loss of your father :( I didn't know your father or anyone in your family, but I recognized the last name and certainly recognized the name, where he was born in Nfld. Someone I knew, Corwin Durnford, passed away in 2017, had to be a cousin of your family. My condolences to your entire family
