Obituary of Marion Viola Edgar

86, Whites Lake, NS, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2023 at the New Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS.  Born in Terence Bay, NS, she was the last surviving  daughter of the late Ronald and Irene (Beck) Slaunwhite. 

Mom worked in retail at Woolco and Sears.  In her younger years, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and camping.  She liked playing washer toss and horseshoes and Mom enjoyed sitting and watching the wildlife in her yard.  She always enjoyed spending time with her family, and sipping on a cup of tea over a good conversation.

Marion is survived by her daughters, Debbie Edgar, Corinna Edgar and Trudy Richardson and a son, Reid Edgar Jr., as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Reid Edgar Sr., and a daughter, Norine Edgar, sister, Elsie Goodhew, and brothers, Frank, Carl, Kenny, Edward and Vernon

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, Shad Bay, NS  Please make donations in memory of Marion to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  To leave a condolence, please click on the “tribute wall”.
