Obituary of James Alan Duff

It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of James Alan Duff of Williamswood on September 7^th, 2023 at the Halifax infirmary. Born June 18^th, 1943 in Halifax, he was the son of the late Allan and Doris (Nagle) Duff.

Jimmy was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed tying flies and using them to catch trophy size fish. He loved his camp in South Merland and enjoyed many hunting trips both in Merland and in many other areas across Nova Scotia. Besides his time outdoors Jimmy cherished hosting family gatherings especially the annual boxing day visit. Although, he was faced with many health issues in the past several years he continued to accept and live his life to the fullest.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Sharon (Kearns) Duff; children, Tracy (Tom Nicholson) Sackville and Jamie (Jennifer Benoit) Afton; three grandchildren, Shara Duff, AJ Duff and Robin Nicholson; three sisters, Vilena (Ed) Walker, Orangeville Ontario; Janet (Chuck) Rafuse, Porters Lake and Debbie (Clyde) Billard Spryfield.

Jimmy was predeceased both his parents, Doris and Allan; sister, Linda.

Cremation has taken place.

Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS.

Burial will follow In Saint James Cemetery Herring Cove, Halifax.
