Born in St. Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec, he was the son of the late Omer and Alexina Laplante. Guy spent his childhood in Quebec, before joining the Navy in 1951 at the age of 21, and after spending 35 years serving our Country in the Navy, he retired in 1986.
