My condolences to Sharon and all of Red’s family. It was with such a heavy heart that I took in the news of Red’s passing. He was one of my closest and dearest friends that I had the honour of knowing for over 70 years. From wild parties in our youth, to growing older and having families of our own, and finally reconnecting in our golden years for excellent golf, it was all treasure that I will always carry with me. Rest easy, dear friend, save a spot for me on God’s golf course, buddy. - Peter

My deepest condolences to the Glazebrook family and his friends. I was a student if his at Cunard Jr. High and J.L. Ilsley. I was lucky to have him as a teacher. He was one of the few teachers who genuinely cared about students. I remember the stories he would tell us which were his memories. I repeat them to people who didn't know him or have him as a teacher. He was one of my favourite teachers. I remember him fondly and always will. May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of being coached hockey by Jim in Novice A over 39 years ago. Jim’s passion for the game and commitment to our team is something my brother and I never forgot. Jim’s enthusiasm for the game was contagious and without a doubt contributed to our future love for the game. Jim will be forever missed and we are forever grateful we were able to know and learn from Jim. Sean and Todd Buckland.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Glazebrook, family and friends. Mr. Glazebrook was my teacher In junior high, and one of the funniest, most outspoken humans. There isn't enough that can be said for good people. There never is - this hindsight is so very clear I am ashamed for not having said these things prior.
He was always a part of the picture growing up next door - working in the yard as we played baseball on the grass, hockey on the deck, in the basement, in the yard, on the ponds (he would have let us play on the roof, save the gravity conundrum). Through all the broken windows (PLURAL), when he taught me to ride a motorcycle, all of it . Patience was his virtue, as was equality. He was the tip-of-the-spear when it came to kindness, and how setting examples can truly result in an inadvertent pay-it-forward resultant vector. I will not forget.
I will also not forget how grateful I am that I was able to meet him on the flip-side of my childhood, as adults. To me, redeeming myself was nothing short of wonderful.
Boys need direction, a mentor - we tend to get lost through the cracks sometimes growing up. He was that and more to me and all that surrounded him - and for that I will always think of him gently, lovingly, with immeasurable fondness, and respect. To measure what he gave is truly an impossible feat, nor should we even try - for we know his value.
There is a part of the man I am now that he is responsible for shaping. I am positive that the cumulative good that has been done on is part will humble any who try to contest it - if any of it results in me becoming half the person he was, I will consider myself to have succeeded in this life.
We love you always Sharon, Ja-red, Jacob et al.

Sharon and family,
So very sorry to learn of Red's passing. It is impossible to find the words of condolence for a family mourning the loss of their life long soulmate, father, and grandfather who was surely loved so deeply.
Not having met Red, it is heartwarming to read what a truly amazing life he lived and to hear the deserving tributes provided in the House of Assembly. Such a giving man who positively impacted so many lives along the way through his teaching, coaching and leadership. That is a special, wonderful legacy to hold on to as you celebrate his life.
Sending prayers of grace and support for you all during this most difficult time; and may you find peace and blessings in the many loving memories as you cherish his life and the loving times together.
Sincerest condolences,
Dave McCarthy

My wife told me of Jim's passing yesterday morning and it has taken me a whole day to process that news. I always thought that Jim, like Keith Richards, was going to live forever. Sadly, I was wrong. Jim was kind, generous and very, very funny. He was, to use a Newfoundland compliment, a lovely fellow. I miss him already. I hope that Jim is in a place where the weather is nice all the time. You know, not too hot ... a slight breeze. The fridge is filled with good food, the cooler is stocked full of icy beverages and there is a Bob Seger album on the turntable. "Smokin' O.P.'s", preferably. That would be nice. Take care, Jim. See you further on up the road. Condolences and positive thoughts for your family.

Dear Sharon and family,
I am deeply saddened to read that Mr, Glazebrook has passed. He helped my sister (Patti) and I while teaching at St. Catherine's. My fondest memories were the epic parties you both provided on Friday nights to allow us kids a safe haven to be kids having fun. His trademark Joe Louis and Pepsi ( we always debated - Pepsi or Coke). You both deeply cared and when Ja Red was a baby, we were always welcomed to help out. RIP Sir. Kindly keep looking over us.

I’m so very sorry for all of your losses. Mr Glazebrook taught me at Cunard Jr High and was ALWAYS good for a laugh or two:) I remember being in his PDR class and he put a video on and promptly snuck out the back entrance for a smoke. It was a running joke as he thought he was being sneaky but we all knew what he was up to. This particular time someone in the class snuck out and kicked the chalkboard eraser which locked him out while having his smoke. Well, this made him angrier than angry when he had to slink in the front doors past the Principle’s office to get back to class. He was known for having a fiery temper and boy did he LOSE it!!!! Fairly certain the whole class was punished for that one and I don’t think it ever happened again. He was also known for having a sucker in his mouth and was TERRIFIED of worms which was also hilarious during the worm experiments in Mr Reid’s class (this was my dad so I got to hear extra stories!!). Thinking of you all and the fond memories I have of Mr “Red” Glazebrook.

Mr. Glazebrook was my homeroom teacher in Grade 7 at Cunard Junior High.
Every Friday afternoon, he would give me money to take the kids who required EPAs upstairs to the canteen to buy them all a treat. (And he always made a point to tell me to get a treat for myself with the money as well.)
Mr. Glazebrook did a lot of great things in his life that I hope he will be remembered for, but I also hope he will be remembered for the many consistent, small acts of kindness he quietly did without asking for any recognition or thanks.
I will always remember Mr. Glazebrook as a kind-hearted, thoughtful, compassionate man.
Sending love and condolences to his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Shaw
