Obituary of Robert Gilford Slaunwhite

SLAUNWHITE, Robert Gilford – 83, Terence Bay. Robert passed away peacefully at Melville Lodge, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late James and Alice (Jollimore) Slaunwhite. Growing up on River Road, Robert enjoyed farming at a very young age from his father having cattle, oxen, chickens, and more, and he later had cattle of his own as soon as he was able to buy them. For this reason, he loved spending time in the valley to be near farms and livestock. Robert is
survived by his sister Tishia Boni; brother, Ivan (Shirley) Slaunwhite; and grandson Chevie Beck. He was predeceased by his daughter Anita Slaunwhite, brother Gerald (Julia) Slaunwhite, and sisters Lois (Marshall) Slaunwhite and Nona (Arthur) Sampson. Cremation has taken place. There will be a service and the family will receive visitors from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 18th, at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road in Spryfield.
