Obituary of Stanley Douglas Bennett

Bennett, Stanley Douglas:  67, Halifax, passed away on December 31, 2023 at the New Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS.  Born in Halifax, he was the only son of Stanley and Agnes (Wederfoort) Bennett.  For many years, Stan was a cab driver for Casino and Yellow Taxi.  He was a private man, who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially eagles and cars.  He is survived by his wife, Janet, his only sister, Cheryl Bourgeois (Rene), numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews,many cousins, and a special friend, Tina Gaetz.  He was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Agnes, and two sisters, Arlene and Agnes “Bunny” and her husband Jimmy.  He will also be sadly missed by his little kitten, “Buddy”.

The family would like to thank the homecare workers of Northwood for all their care.  

A celebration of Stanley’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11 am from the funeral home chapel.  There will be no visitation.  Interment will take place following the service at St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax, NS.  In memory of Stan, please make donations to the SPCA or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
