Obituary of Barbara Elaine Sampson

SAMPSON, Barbara Elaine- 79 of Halifax. It is with extreme sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Elaine Sampson on February 3rd, 2024 at the QEII V.G. Site.  Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Ian and Bertha (Mitchell) MacDonald.  Barb grew up in Cooks Brook, NS, where she lived at her family's gas and convenience store before moving to Halifax where she worked at Maritime Tel and Tel until she retired in 1996.

Barb was a massive Toronto Blue Jays fan and kept records of wins and losses. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed card games like crib and 45'. She was known for her lucky bingo number, B1!  Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with family from Cape Breton to Kelowna, BC. She loved to spend the weekend camping at her trailer at Riverland Campground where she made great friendships. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Albert Sampson; son Joe (Nicole) brother Jim (Beverly) MacDonald and two grandsons, Maxwell and Elliot.  She was pre-deceased by her brother, John MacDonald.  

A celebration of life will be held from 2-6 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Spryfiled Legion.
