Obituary of Gerald Murray Beaver

BEAVER, Gerald “Gerry” Murray- 97 of Halifax, it is with extreme sadness we announce the passing of Gerald Murray Beaver on March 19^th, 2024.  He was the son of the late Ross and Stella Beaver.  Gerry’s passion when he was younger was harness racing.  He worked for Esso- Imperial Oil for his career delivering fuel all over Nova Scotia.  He loved to golf.  He was a talented woodworker and over the years won awards for his bird carvings.  He also enjoyed duck hunting. 

  He is survived by his stepsons, Robert Smeltzer of Halifax, and Brian Smeltzer of Indian Harbour. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Joyce Beaver (nee Tanner), and his second wife, Sylvia Maxine Beaver (nee Covey); brothers, Kenneth, Douglas, Roy, and Earl Beaver. 

  We would like to extend a special thanks to Gerry's neighbors and friends, Bruce Lohnes and Bruce and Becky Lloy for their care and kindness.

  Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd.  In keeping with Gerry’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A burial will take place on April 5^th, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.  To place online condolences please visit www.walkerfh.com
