Obituary of Maxine Elaine Mitchell

MITCHELL, Maxine Elaine- Age 96 of Halifax and formally of P.E.  It is with sorrow in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Maxine Elaine Mitchell on March 26^th, 2024, at Ocean View Continuing Care Centre. Born in Montana, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Freda Salmond.  As an infant child, Maxine moved to Bonshaw, P.E.I, and then in her later years she moved to Halifax with her young family.  She is survived by her son, Harvey (Marlene) Mitchell, Bay Fortune, P.E; daughters, Elaine (Stephen) Taylor, Dartmouth, N.S, and Lorraine (Trent) Perrott, Brookside, N.S.; grandchildren, Stephen Mitchell, Charlottetown, P.E., Tyler (Crystal) Perrott, Kentville, N.S. and, Luke (Brittany Kelly) Perrott, Bedford, N.S.; sister, Marilyn MacPhail, Cornwall, P.E.; 5 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carmen J. Mitchell.

Arrangement and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, N.S.  In keeping with Maxine’s wishes there will be no visitation.  A funeral service will occur on Tuesday, April 2^nd, 2024, at 1 p.m. in our chapel. Following the service, a reception will take place. Also, a visitation will be taking place at Marilyn MacPhail’s residence on Thursday, April 4^th, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at 641 Main St, Cornwall, P.E.  An internment will take place on Friday, April 5^th, 2024 in Argyle Shore. To place online condolences, please visit www.walkerfh.com.
