Sorry Jean for your loss. I didn't see this until today. I knew Steve in the latter days of his life here. He tried to be a friend to me and I will not forget him. Rest in peace my friend and be well.

My deepest condolences Jean. I am so saddened to learn of Stephen’s passing. I know you are heartbroken. You know I understand that feeling completely. I only met Stephen once and unfortunately I didn’t get to know him on that occasion. I was glad to hear that his friend thought highly of him and his great sense of humour. God bless Stephen and you. Love and hugs, Chris Connor Stevens

"Huxter" was an unforgettable character as a member of NIPIGON back in the mid-80s! As a young, impressionable sailor, I was able to witness his infectious humour (sometimes at a less than opportune time... :-) ) and how it lifted the spirits of all of us during some stressful times. He was a great shipmate and he lives large in our memories; just mentioning his name brings smiles and stories to all! RIP Huxter.

My sincerest condolences to you Jean and have many fond memories of Steve both sailing and hunting. And since I am the same age he passed far to early.

I sailed with Steve on the Nipigon many years ago. A fun loving guy who had a very funny sense of humor. RIP my friend. Condolences to all his family

While I didn't know Steve's family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was a shipmate of Steve's in HMCS Nipigon, and Steve was on my watch in the Operations Room. He was someone who brought many smiles and laughs to all those around him. The world was a better place with him in it. I will miss him.
