Obituary of Norma Virginia Ferguson

FERGUSON, Norma Virginia- Age 99 of Spryfield/Sackville, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful, mother, sister, and nanny, Norma Virginia Ferguson on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site. Born in Scott’s Bay in 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ozrow and Maude (Webb) Huntley.  Norma was a proud Spryfielder and in her younger years, she worked for the Spryfield IGA and Emmanual Save Easy.  She was also a Spryfield Lioness.

She is survived by her children, Gwendolyn Huntley, Scott Ferguson, and Pamela Ferguson (Dale Oakley); grandchildren, Karen Huntley, Tammy Huntley- Barkhouse (Troy Barkhouse), Nicole Huntley (Todd Welton), Shawn Ferguson, Jennifer Oakley (Korey Zwicker), and Stefanie Oakley- Curtis (Charles Curtis); great-grandchildren, Makenzie Oakley, Mason Oakley and Jayden Curtis; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her husband, Earle "Fergie" Ferguson; sisters, Abbie (Welsford) Arnold, Rev. Vesta (Perce) Legge, and Geraldine (John) Banks; brothers, Wilbur (Emily) Huntley, and James (Doris) Huntley; son-in-law, Phill Huntley; daughter-in-law, Pat Noftle.

Arrangements have taken place under J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.  In keeping with Norma's wishes, a visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m.   A burial will occur at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville, N.S.  To place online condolences, please visit www.walkerfh.com
