Obituary of Mona Lisa Poirier

58, Bedford:  Our dear Mona Lisa passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 and is now safe in the arms of Jesus with no more suffering.  Affectionately known as Mona in Cheticamp and Lisa in Halifax, she is the only beloved daughter of Marie Levy (LeFort, Poirier).  Lisa was a graduate of nursing and was a successful LPN, currently working with Northwood Care Inc. in Bedford.  Lisa was a lovely and spiritual woman who loved her mother dearly.  She loved her dogs like they were her children, and losing each of them, Cheyenne, Brooke and Brady, was very hard on her heart.   Mona Lisa is survived by her loving mother, Marie, aunts, Luce Yvonne LeBlanc, Rose McKay (Wayne), and Juliette Poirier, her uncle, Yvon LeFort (Dolly), as well as numerous cousins, too many to mention.  She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Poirier, and her fiancé, Brian Sampson, as well as many members of the Poirier, LeFort, Aucoin, and Larade families.

Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 11-1 PM at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, with a funeral service beginning in the chapel at 1 PM.  A reception will follow.  Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax, NS.  In memory of Mona Lisa, please make donations to the SPCA or to any charity that will benefit an animal.
