Obituary of Shirley Anne Rose Tibert

TIBERT, Shirley Annie Rose -Age 86 of Halifax,  It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Shirley, of Lewis Lake on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Hughie (Lynn) Tibert and Marilyn (Don) Allan; grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Rideout, April (David) Solomon, James Allan, and Katherine Allan; great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Daniel) Steadman, Logan Solomon, and Olivia Solomon; sisters, Joan Fellows, Yvonne Radford and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Allen and Effie Cooper; siblings Bill Cooper, Marie Pardy, and Ellen Fisher; and husband, Chudleigh Tibert.

Shirley was born June 16, 1938, in Clifton Newfoundland. She moved to Nova Scotia in 1954 where she built a wonderful life for herself. Shirley worked with Clover Foods for twenty-five years, where she worked in the packing room preparing orders to be shipped all through the Maritimes. In her spare time, you could find her working in the wood pile, cutting, splitting, and piling wood. She enjoyed

fishing, hiking, setting snares, and long drives. On cold or rainy days, you could find her sewing, knitting, or doing crafts. But her favorite thing of all was spending time with family, whether it was going on vacation to Newfoundland, playing snakes and ladders, or just having a delicious family meal together. She loved a good feed of salt cod and pork scraps, corned beef and cabbage, and country chicken. Shirley was loved by all who knew her, she will be deeply missed.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax.  In keeping with Shirley's wishes, A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Estabrooks Community Hall, 4408 St. Margarets Bay Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Burial to take place Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Liscomb Mills Cemetery, West Liscomb Road.
