August 28, 1948 – August 6, 2024 

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2-4 pm at the Captain William Spry Community Center in the Kidston Room.  Please come and share memories of Cheryl.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Anne Bourgeois (née Bennett) on August 6th, 2024, just weeks before her 76th birthday.  Born and raised in Halifax, Cheryl was a loved member of the Spryfield community and a proud alumni of BC Silver High School.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in her family. Cheryl had a profound love for animals, a passion for cooking, and cherished spending time with friends. Whether it was savouring peppermints, indulging in chocolate popsicles, or enjoying the simple pleasures of life, Cheryl found beauty in the small things.

Predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Agnes Bennett; husband, Brian Bourgeois; siblings, Arlene Doherty, Stanley Bennett, Agnes “Bunny” Smith; and her beloved son, Glenn Bourgeois. Cheryl is survived by her partner, Rene Mills; her children, Tara and Ricky Bourgeois; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her cats, Freya and Buddy; extended family and many dear friends.
