Deborah Westhaver

Obituary of Deborah May Westhaver

Westhaver, Deborah May:  62, Halifax.  It is with great sadness that we, the family of Deborah Westhaver, announce her passing on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the New Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS, following her battle with cancer.  She put up a big fight.  Born in Victoria, BC, she is a daughter of Garnet A. King and the late Lillian D. (Bagu) King.  Deborah moved to Halifax about 20 years ago.  She will be remembered for doing anything to help other people out in any way she could, and she often did for others before she did for herself- she had a heart of gold.  Throughout her life, Deborah had worked at Tim Horton’s and was proud to be a volunteer at a Veterinarian Clinic.  She loved cats, especially her fur-baby, Gemma, and all animals.  She enjoyed going to Shubenacadie Wildlife Park with the kids and loved to see the animals.  Deborah loved to crochet and do crafts, along with cooking, baking and swimming.   She liked going to Peggy’s Cove, having an ice cream , especially at DQ with the kids, shopping, bowling and playing TV Bingo.    Above all, family was most important to Deborah, and she loved being with family at their homes for Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving gatherings.  She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Buddy, her father, Garnet, a step-son, Gregory Westhaver, a step-daughter, Colleen Westhaver, her 3 grandkids, Kylee, Riley, and Alaura, and her siblings, Connie and Art (Bro) (Kim), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews,  great-nieces, cousins, and many friends.  She was predeceased by her mother, Lillian, and a brother, David.

Cremation has taken place and a visitation in memory of Deborah will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.  Please come and share memories of Deborah.  Flowers are welcome or donations in memory to a charity that will benefit an animal.
