Obituary of Laurence Philip Naylor

Laurence passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer.  He was born in London, England, and immigrated to Canada with his parents as a toddler.  With a father in the military, Laurence lived in various places including Edmonton, AB, Baden-Baden, Germany, and Greenwood, NS.  He settled in the Halifax/Dartmouth area in his later years.  

After graduating from West Kings District High School, he spent a year with Canada World Youth, where he traveled to Ivory Coast, Africa, to do volunteer work. He then joined the Canadian Coast Guard and spent several years in the Arctic Ocean. After dabbling as a small business owner, he worked for the Public Service until his retirement.

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Jacqueline of Calgary; sister, Susan (Cam) of Calgary; nieces, Erin (Shanal) of Chilliwack and Claire (Stephen) of Kelowna; nephew, Alex of Calgary; great nephew, Vincent of Chilliwack.

The family wishes to thank all the staff, nurses, and doctors at Arborstone Enhanced Care for caring for Laurence in his final years.

In keeping with Laurence's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
