Obituary of Patsy Cowie

Obituary for Patricia “Patsy” Cowie (nee Lambert) July 15, 1944 - December 4, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia “Patsy” Cowie (nee Lambert), aged 80, on December 4th, 2024. Patsy was born in Spryfield, Nova Scotia, to the late Laval and Jessie  (Hogg) Lambert.

At the age of 28, Patsy's life changed dramatically in an instant after suffering severe injuries in a car accident. While most would have succumbed to such a devastating event, Patsy showed extraordinary resilience. She seldom expressed anger, resentment, or self-pity. She remained fiercely independent, facing every challenge with an inspiring spirit.

Throughout her life, Patsy maintained a sense of humor and positivity, even in the face of adversity. When she became a resident of Northwood Manor, she inspired many with her strength of character.

In her final weeks, Patsy's legacy of courage, determination, and humor became even more evident. The tears of both staff and residents at Northwood demonstrated just how deeply she had touched their hearts. Patsy leaves behind a lasting impact on those who knew her. The family thanks all those staff who supported Patsy through the years.

Patsy is survived by her sons, Scott Cowie, and Paul Cowie; sisters, Paulette Lambert, Valerie McNeil (Doug), Marian Lambert (Kevin Lefebvre), and Caroline Maas (George); brothers, John (Geraldine), Dennis (Donna), Mike (Joye - deceased) and Andrew. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Cowie.

A service will be held for Patsy at Walker's Funeral Home, Herring Cove Road, Spryfield on Tuesday, December 10th at 11:00 am followed by a reception.

Patsy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, courage, and warmth will never be forgotten.
