Obituary of Sheila Doris Cooper

COOPER, Sheila Doris—Age 79 of Halifax, it is with great sadness that the family of Sheila Doris (Rose) Cooper announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister on December 15, 2024. Sheila was born in Hermitage, NL, on September 5, 1945. Sheila had a strong personality and an unmatched determination.

She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth (Perry) of Halifax; son, Edward (Michelle) of Paradise NL; She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Cara (Aaron), Steven (Alyssa) of Halifax, Jessica (Gregory), and Stuart (Rachel) of Paradise NL; brother, Robert (Dianne), and Joyce of British Columbia; many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends.

She was predeceased by Gordon, her devoted husband of over 60 years; parents, Tryphena and Edward Matchem; biological parents, Queena Rose and Eric Rose; sister, Nancy; brothers, Tom, Ted, Eric, and Jerry.

The family is sure that she is dancing in Dad's arms once again. 

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax.  In keeping with Sheila’s wishes there will be no visitation or service at this time.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
