Obituary of Gary Tyrone Ackroyd

67, Halifax, passed away on September 23, 2017. Born on February 13, 1950 in Windsor, he was a son of the late William and Lillian (Parr) Ackroyd. Gary was a private person, but he did enjoy playing cards and appreciated the home cooking of various people in his apartment building. Special thanks from the family is extended to Ed Slade for his support and friendship to Gary over the years. Gary is survived by daughter, Lori; sisters, Frances Harvie-Pyett, Daisy (Kenneth) Wilson and Barbara (Carl) Clarke; brother, Roger; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by sisters, Eva and Shirley Joan (in infancy); brothers, George, Gerald and Bill. In keeping with Gary’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
