Dearest Elliott Family,
I was so very sorry to learn of your mum's passing. She was an amazing woman and I know you will miss her terribly. In some ways, perhaps it's a blessing as I know she was elderly but you mum is your mum and that is not a relationship that can be replaced.
Thinking of you all at this very sad time.
Sincerely,
Jane

I want to express how sorry Iam for the familys loss. There are some very
comforting words found in Gods Word, the Bible, at Acts the 17th. chapter,
verses 24 & 25 where God is called "the source of life"......the One who
gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to our
loved ones who have died. Another comforting scripture is found in the Bible
book of Job, the 14th. chapter, verses 14 & 15. It speaks about how God
longs to bring back those who are in His memory & see them live on earth
again. I hope this brings the family comfort. My sincere condolence to you &
yours. Janet https://www.jw.org/finder?docid=1011214&item=pub-imv_4_

Sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I remember many a time when all the ladies of the CWL of St. Catherine's Church would get together planning one event or another, along with my mom, Alexandra (Alec) Fougere. Your mother's smile was always a joy to behold.

To Carole and family: I am so sorry for missing your mom's obituary in the paper. It was only today under "Cards of Thanks" that I recognized that wonderful smile and traced back to the original obituary date when I realized it was your mom. The last time we saw each other was two years ago at the Spaz Theatre and all was good at that time. I just want to pass on my condolences to all of you, and I will hold you all in my prayers . God Bless

A wonderful service for a wonderful lady
Such a kind heart and warm soul, she was such a fun lady to be around, she brought joy to the room when she was in it. So lucky to have known her and the rest of the Sampson clan. An amazing group and sad that she was the last but they all live on in each one of us who come after. I hope they are having a kitchen party in heaven now as they are all together again.
You kids did her proud and the service was filled with love and joy despite the sorrow. Just the way the she would have wanted it. So glad that I could make the trip and very glad she made sure that the weather was warm and sunny just like her.

I am so sad to hear of Aunt Gert’s death. She was the last Great Sampson of a bygone era marked by strong families, strong communities and steady jobs. You captured her magnificently in her beautifully written obituary which moved me to tears every time I read it.
Like all her sisters, Aunt Gert blessed me with a deep and abiding sense of community, a commitment to and compassion for others and the joy of expressing random acts of kindness.
I shall always appreciate how helpful she was when Mom was sick, regularly dropping off delicious meals to help Mom, Dad, Danny and me through some of our darkest days in Mom’s final, painful months upon this earth. Her friendship with her sisters has inspired me to have deeply rewarding and supportive friendships with women. Her sense of fun and humour were always a delight.
How fortunate you were to have her for so many years.
I share your grief and sadness at her passing and hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
In sorrow and gratitude,
Anne

To the Elliott and Langille families:
Gert was always so full of life and love and had such an infectious smile. She was a fine, caring lady who welcomed me in her life. Gert and Don were so happy when my daughter, Cheryl, took Perky into her care and brought him for visits with them. I cherish the memories I have of both of them. My sincere condolences. God bless, Pat Thompson.

Aunt Gert was a beautiful person inside and out. All my life she was gracious and kind to me.
Len and I will remember l her from all the rallys with the Scotian Roamers. She was always so much fun to be around. I had her to myself in those precious times. I will never forget the day her and Uncle Al visited mom
in the hospital and brought her a lobster sandwich. They both were so generous .I will also remember both
Aunt Gert and Uncle Al for all their kindnesses to our family. They visited us often, always bringing cakes, cookies,
muffins and of course flour and sugar. She will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Aunt Gert was everything her Obit said she was. The last time I saw her was at Doris Rankin's place just outside of Ottawa and we spoke for a bit, as it wasn't too long after our Mother's passing. She always had the life force that all the Sampson women had. They radiated love and warmth. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Greetings Elliott clan!
I offer my heart-felt condolences for the passing of my "aunt Gert".
She had all the characteristics described in her obituary and many more.
Growing up a street away, She was an energetic and positive influence on me during my early life. I will always remember Gert and Kay speaking French in the kitchen in an attempt to conceal the details of their conversation from me.
I also remember her fondly busting a move dancing to late 70s disco music during parties in our basement.
I last saw Aunt Gert in Ontario five years ago and it gave me a tremendous sense of connection to the Sampson clan and my own Mother Kay, who is still very much with me in her values and generosity of spirit decades after her passing.
