Obituary of Francis Thomas Coxworthy

84, Shad Bay. It is with great sadness we announce the death of Frank on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Born in Bell Island, NL on April 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Pierre and Helen (Bickford) Coxworthy.

Frank was an electrician in ore mines on Bell Island until the mines closed. He then joined AM International, retiring from there in 1988 as Service Manager for the four Atlantic Provinces. Frank loved to fish, hunt and camp. He was always there to lend a helping hand if needed.

He is survived by his loving wife, soul mate and best friend, Madonna “Donna”; his very loving children, Tom (Anne), Pete (Linda) and Connie (Peter Hetzler); his wonderful grandchildren, Tanner, Lukas, Anna and Adam, as well as “special” grandson, Joey; brothers, Robert, Ed (Kit); sisters, Marg (Ray), Sylvia (Dick) and Naomi (Norm); as well as “special” friend, Lee. He was predeceased by brothers, William, Fred, Howard and Charlie.

Many thanks to the staff of Arborstone Enhanced Care, with a special thanks to Dr. Meehan and Tammy, for their care and compassion shown to Frank and the family.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, on Saturday, January 27 at 10 AM, followed by a reception. If you wish to do so, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the SPCA.
