We are all so shocked and saddened by Tony's passing. Tony and I met in Grade 6 and finished high school together. I still remember his mom, Sally teaching at Sir Albert Love school too. Tony's sister Sue actually ended up teaching our oldest daughter Julie at St. Bernard's. How sad to lose a hero at such a young age. Our prayer is for the Lord to grant Peace to all the family and know Tony is in God's loving arms. "He hasn't left us, he's just gone ahead."

Suzanne and family.
We just heard the tragic news of Tony's passing. The Baron and Borovsky families have been dear friends for many decades. In fact, I babysat the mischievous Tony and his three sisters on a number of occasions. We shared many summers together on Kashwakamak Lake. I remember taking Tony fishing for walleye. He was a keen learner and had many questions. You must be so proud of his commitment to the local community both professionally as an RCMP officer and as a hockey coach. Think of all the lives he touched in such a positive way. A very good man who left us all too soon. I will keep you and the boys in my prayers.

We have been sharing the news among classmates hailing from Lakehead University Outdoor Recreation. To sum up we can't find words to express our sorrow to lose Tony. The four years of living and studying together we bonded through adventure and learning. As you can appreciate we developed a good understanding of each other ... including Tony who was a class favourite. Tony was always consistently positive, universal in his friendships, accepting and caring. He could lighten the mood anywhere and anytime. His grin and pointed thoughtful humour were a great asset often making the class laugh.
Though we were all spread across this land to build lives and careers, news of Tony would trickle in. We were proud to know that he had served in the RCMP and confident that he would integrate the strong ideals and values learned through the many experiences in our program. We hope that by sharing with his family and friends that in some way we can bring you a smile and help you heal. We salute Tony with you and he will remain in our memory and hearts well into the future.
Dave and Sally; Revelstoke BC.

Suzanne, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Zachery,
There are no words that can be said to help make the pain and sadness go away, however, our prayers and blessings to you and the family.
A quote that comes to mind when I think of this wonderful person, Tony, that has left us with all the memories is: "There are two great days in a person's life- the day we are born and the day we discover why."- William Barclay.
Tony was born into a wonderful family and God gave us the gift which is him. The day Tony discovered why he was born was the continuous days of his life. He came into our lives and made a difference. He was a great friend to everyone, a husband who loved his wife fully, a father who cherished his children everyday. He had the most wonderful laughter and smile(grin) that could be heard and seen when he entered the room.
Time will heal the broken heart but the memories are always going to be strong. Laugh, and cry will be present.
All our love Grant and Belinda Ritchie

We have lost one of the best. I remember Tony from our days coaching in TASA house league hockey. He was a passionate coach who tried to get the best out of all the players, regardless of ability, and had little time for parents who thought their kids were headed for the NHL. I remember his pep talk before a bantam tournament game when he talked about who needed to shoot more and who needed to pass more and who needed to get back on the blue line faster. Then he concluded "the rest of you need to get in front of their net - maybe it will bounce in off your butt." We are all better people for his humour and his direct approach to life and love..
Blessings,
Kevin Cox

Suzanne, boys, and extended family; to say that it was with great sadness that I first learned of this tragic event would certainly be an understatement. It was very much a shock to me as I felt that I had lost a brother. Working so closely over numerous years it follows that a bond is stuck, and so it was with Tony. He was known for his dependability, his expertise, but also for his love of family. Spoke of you all frequently and missed you when we worked away. Tony lead his life to the fullest and I can only wish that all the wonderful memories you shared will sustain you in this most trying time. Our heartfelt condolences.

I didn't know Tony on a personal level but had been working with him as his representative with NSGEU for the past year. His passing has left me with a heavy heart. The time I had known Tony, I knew he enjoyed the valuable work he did for Nova Scotians. He was passionate about the work and dedicated to his teammates.
Tony and I were working together to ensure the work he and his teammates were doing was as safe as possible. He told me he wanted to pursue safety in his workplace for one reason, to come home safe to his family at the end of the day.
His passion for safety has resulted in significant changes to mitigate the risk to compliance officers today. I am honoured to have known Tony and I am sincerely sorry for your loss and the grief it is causing.

It is difficult to say goodbye to someone who has become such a dear friend in a relatively short time. He always had a ready smile and was quick to help a friend out in any way possible. He shared his life with us and kept us entertained at every gathering and especially campfires and neighborhood gatherings. He made us appreciate the finer things in life like hearing loons in the evening or the baying of coyotes in the distance or just a gorgeous sunset from a kayak. He will be truly missed by us and we are grateful for the chance to share a part of his life.

My sincerest condolances, Tony was a fellow worker in Service Nova Scotia and like a brother to me. WE both worked tirelessly and loved Scotch. I returned home from Florida on Thursday and called Tony immediately to see what was going on, I was very pleased that I spoke to him that day as this was my last time. He and I were always the first two out on surveillance and always the last ones to leave the office after the take down. I can honestly say that although I never worked with Tony as an RCMP officer, my experience with him at this job was unique. He always talked about his family and was one person that enjoyed life.
He brought a lot of pleasure to the office like no one else. He always had a positive attitude and willing to do anything at any time. WE will miss him at this office and he will be one person that will be hard to replace.
