Obituary of Agnes Marie Smith

Smith, Agnes Marie “Bunny”:  71, Halifax, passed away following a lengthy illness on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the New Halifax Infirmary surrounded by her family.  Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Bennett and Agnes (Wederfoort).  She was a tremendous supporter of SpayDay HRM.  Every year she provided baking to help fundraise. Affectionately known as Bunny, she is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James, her son, James Jr. (Brandi), sister, Cheryl (Rene), brother, Stanley (Janet), as well as 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, two foster children, Charlie Martin and Sharon (Kevin) Murphy and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Arlene. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel.  Interment will take place at Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville, NS.  Donations in memory of Bunny may be made to SpayDay HRM, 40 Lier Ridge, Halifax, N.S.  B3P 0C7.
