Obituary of James MacLean "Jimmy" Forbes
FORBES, James MacLean “Jimmy” - 73, Hatchet Lake, passed away January 26, 2008 at the VG Site, QEII. Born in Summerside, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Cecil and Sadie Lulu (MacLean) Forbes. Jimmy was in the Navy and is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, White’s Lake, Branch 153. He worked for Irving Oil for many years as a furnace mechanic. He then went on to work with his son Wayne, until his retirement in 1995. He loved to work around his yard and tinker with different projects. Jimmy is survived by his sons, Brenton (Karen), Stoney Creek, Ont.; Wayne (Debbie), Hatchet Lake; Steven (Terri), Caledonia, Ont.; Kevin (Lynn), Burlington, Ont.; companion, Marilyn Bernard and her family, Sackville; sisters, Helen (Bruce) Small, Summerside, P.E.I.; Mary Houston, Kensington, P.E.I.; Barb (Bob) Baldwin, Mississauga, Ont.; brother, Wilfred (Mariam), Dartmouth; grandchildren, James, Colleen, Ross, David, Jason, Christopher, Billy, Elizabeth, Candice, Jennifer; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Frederick; his sister, Lillian and brother, Sidney. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601), with visitation from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 28 and 2-4 and 7-9p.m. on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. A reception will be held at the legion in White’s Lake after the service.
