Obituary of James Lawrence "Jim" Neary

NEARY, James Lawrence - 65, passed away February 12, 2008, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Marie (McNeil) Neary. Jim was employed as a custodian at the Department of National Defence until his retirement in 2004. He is survived by his former wife, Maureen (Brown), Kitchener, Ont.; sons, Michael (Kim), Halifax; John, Dartmouth; daughters Marie (Kevin Whalen), Hatchet Lake; Christine (Joe) Wolfe, Halifax; sister, Marie (Peter) Whitehead, Halifax; grandchildren, Andrew, Santina, James, Jessica, Stephanie, Sherman, Wayne; nephews, Peter, Dale, and Alan. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 15. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
