Obituary of William Anthony "Bill" Brophy

BROPHY, William Anthony "Bill" - 73, Clark's Harbour, passed away March 6, 2008, in Yarmouth County. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Roy Whalen and Helena Brophy. Bill was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He served 15 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a proud business owner at the age of 73. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Wallace) Cooper, Dartmouth; Deborah (Allan) Knight, Gaetz Brook; son, William (Loretta), Clam Point; grandchildren, Michelle Cooper, Marsha Baker, Wallace Cooper, Marc Knight, Ian Knight, John Brophy, and Danielle Townsen; great-grandchildren, Kelsi-Rae Cooper, Kolton Cooper, Kaitlyn Cooper, Kirstyn Cooper, Aiden Baker, and MacKenzie Brophy; stepdaughters, Susan Collings and her children Christopher and Kirk; Cathy Collishaw and her children Bonnie and Charles; Heather Rose, Colleen Tozer and Gail Gallie, and their five children; his only living aunt, Rita (Brophy) Gates. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel Brophy; grandparents, William and Mary Brophy. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. Albert walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601). No Visitation by the request of the family. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Patricia Malin officiating.
