Obituary of Shirley Marie Martin

MARTIN, Shirley Marie - 78, Ketch Harbour, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, March 6, 2008, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. She was a member of the Children of Mary in Saint Peter's Parish. She was a daughter of Stanley and Edith (Johnston) Flemming. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Predeceased by siblings, Olive, Clyde and Marjorie, and her husband, James Edward Martin. She is survived by her loving children, Margie (Paddy) Gray, James (and special daughter-in-law, Cathy) Martin, Edie (Dan) Jones, Peter Martin, Patsy (Barry) Oakley; grandchildren; Sherry, Angie, Chad, Jason; great-grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Brandon, Ainslie, Addison; nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Jennings at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Herring Cove Road. Cremation has taken place. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2 p.m. in Saint Peter's Parish Church in Ketch Harbour, reception to follow in the church hall, Rev. J. Gaurveau officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. By request, family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or to Breast Cancer Research.
