Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Moore

MOORE, Jean Elizabeth … 91, Halifax, passed away March 17, 2008 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Korea, she was a daughter of the late Dr. E.J.O. and Margaret (MacIntosh) Fraser. She was a member at St. Paul’s United Church, the UCW, and was active in church affairs. She attended Mt. Allison University and taught there for one year. Jean and her husband, Rev. A.H. Moore served in the United Church Ministry in Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Her parents, Dr. E.J.O. Fraser and Margaret Fraser were missionaries in Korea. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth, at home; Joan Everill, Victoria, B.C.; Peggy (Michael) Langille, Fall River; son, Donald “Donnie”, Halifax; brother, John, Victoria, B.C.; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Aubrey Hudson Moore; brother, Clarence. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601). There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22 in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Jeanne Manning Stright officiating. An interment will be held in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia (423-7530) or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Nova Scotia Branch (453-4232).
