Obituary of Murray Richardson
Richardson, Murray Kenneth: 67, Bridgewater, NS. It is with great sorrow that we announce Murray’s passing on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with family by his side. Born in Halifax, he is the son of Nettie (Schnare) Richardson Gillingham and the late Earle Richardson. Murray enjoyed stock car racing and was well known at the local tracks in the Maritimes. He took great pride in the engines that he built and spent many hours at The Engine Center in Bridgewater. For many years, Murray was a member of the Canadian Forces and worked with Michelin for a number of years. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. The family wishes to thank the staff at the South Shore Regional Hospital for their compassionate care. All who knew Murray will sadly miss him. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Gray), daughters, Marie Brewer (Jim), and Heidi Richardson (partner, John MacInnis), his son, Kenneth (Teresa) Richardson, granddaughters, Katrina and Stephanie Marryatt, and grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Rafuse. He is also survived by three sisters, Carol Richardson, Heather Quandt (Michael), and Corrine Pearson, and two brothers, Dennis (Sharon) and Brian (Debbie). Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS (477.5601). In keeping with Murray’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2 PM during the interment of ashes at St. James United Church Cemetery, Sambro, NS, with Rev. Ellem Wilson officiating.
