Obituary of Frank Briand

BRIAND, Frank Leo: 91, Halifax. We, the family of Frank L. Briand, are saddened to announce his passing on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, NS. Born in L’Ardoise, he was a son of the late Angus and Mary (Lawrence) Briand. Throughout his life, Frank had worked in various careers of maintenance. He is survived by his sons, Tom, Toronto, Mike, Halifax, daughter, Jean Garvey (Bill), Keene, NH, daughter-in-law, Annie Bayne, Halifax, his brother, Albert, Montreal, and sister, Rita Briand, Halifax. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Brian Garvey, Angela Garvey, Anna Briand, Jill Briand, Adam Briand, and John Briand, as well as many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Frances (MacPhee), his parents, a son, Donald, sisters, Angie Ingles, Anne Briand, and Mary MacNeil, and brothers, George and Alex. Resting at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10 AM from St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Herring Cove Road, with Fr. Rob Arsenault as celebrant. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS. Family flowers only by request, in lieu, remembrances in memory of Frank may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
