Obituary of Irene Snow

SNOW, Irene Lillian (nee Bowman): passed away peacefully into God’s loving arms on October 11, 2008 at her home in Spryfield, surrounded by her loved ones. Irene was a long time member of the Golden Age Club, Spryfield. She received a Citizen Commendation Award for her participation in the Senior Lunch Program. She loved to play darts and to bowl, and she sang as a member of the Golden Age choir. She was also a member of the Calvary United Baptist Church, Spryfield. She read her bible diligently each and every day. Irene is survived by daughters, Lillian (Eddie Veith), Spryfield, Marilyn (David Davenport), Hants County, Gloria (Raymond Saulnier), Spryfield, Alfreda (James Kavanaugh), Spryfield, Heather (Ben Tarrant), Lower Sackville, Donna Snow (John Peet), Lower Sackville, Helen (Jadey Galley), Three Mile Plains, her sons, Alfred (Dorothy), Spryfield, Bruce, Spryfield, Henry (Brenda Zinc), East Dover, John, Spryfield, Paul (Madonna), Spryfield; a special friend, Deena LeBlanc, Spryfield, 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, sisters, Annie Marriotte and Florence Conrad, brother, Frank Bowman, sister-in-law, Viola, daughter, Sandra Forrest, grandchildren, Lillian (Boopsie) Gilkie, and Alfie Veith, and great-grandchildren, Ryan Lahey and Jean Baptiste Davenport. Irene will be resting in God’s loving arms at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (902)477.5601, where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11 AM from Calvary United Baptist Church, 71 Thornhill Drive, Spryfield, with Pastor John Bears as officiant. Interment will take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church. Remembrances in memory of Irene may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
