Obituary of Mary Pottie

POTTIE, (Evans) Mary Anne … Halifax, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2008 at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Burin Bay, NF on August 7, 1913, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Moulten. Mary Enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting and Sunday drives with family. She is survived by daughters Phylis (McCall) Marriott, Emery, NB; Barb (Bub) Creamer, Halifax; Sharon (Harry) Martin, Sheet Harbour; Shirley Mitchell, New Jersey; sons Ralph Evans; Andrew (Rose) Evans; Clifton (Edna) Evans, all of Halifax; Donald (Brenda) Evans and Ronald Evans, both of Ontario; 34 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her first husband John Edward Evans; second husband Walter Pottie; sons Richard and Reginald Evans. The family would like to extend special thanks to the QEII Emergency and the VG 7A Palliative Care doctors and nurses for their care given to Mary. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 12-2 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM from the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Family flowers only.
