Obituary of Olive Riley

RILEY (Barron), Olive Bernice - 80, East Dover, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, with her loving husband of 57 years by her side. Born in Sheet Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Logan) Barron. Olive will be sadly missed by her family and many friends from all over. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Riley, East Dover; sons, James (Helen Rines) Barron, Michael (Ida), Art (Nancy), Bedford; Wade (Trinda); daughters, Joann (Will) Ellis, Colleen (Tom) Cowan; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brothers, Eric, Edward (Ada), Winnipeg; Pat, Toronto; sisters, Jean (Joe) Comeau, Yarmouth; Joyce (Cecil) Meldrum, Lower Sackville; Liz (Norman) Stroesser, Windsor. She was predeceased by infant son, Robert; daughter, Sharon; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Mae Gerrard. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the VG Site, QEII, for all of the love and compassion given to Olive during her time in their care. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601). Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 28, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Mission Catholic Church, Shad Bay, with Father Dariusz Misiolek as celebrant.
