Obituary of Shirley Payne

Payne, Shirley Marie (nee Delaney) - 72, Halifax passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the QE II Health Science Centre. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late James and Emma (Wournell) Delaney. Shirley loved a good game of cards; bingo, bowling and dancing. Shirley will be sadly missed by sons, Charles Junior., Halifax; David., Halifax; Raymond (Lorena) Halifax; daughter Donna (Sheldon), Halifax, grandchildren, Kimberley, Matthew, Jennifer, Kevin and Melissa all of Halifax; brothers, Phillip, Ronnie, Bernie, Bill, sisters, Geraldine, Carol “Connie”, Judy, Darlene; and many nieces and nephews, life time friend since school, Evelyn, as well as, Cocoa, her dog, and Helen, a very special lady in her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Payne. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd,; 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Monday, January 5 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 6 at 10AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
