Obituary of Tom Mosher

MOSHER, Gerald Thomas "Tom" - 77. With heavy hearts and deepest sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Tom on February 24, 2009, at his residence. Born in Sydney, he was a son of Charles and Pearl (Craig) Mosher. Tommy grew up in Halifax. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, flea markets, bingo, and poker machines. In the 1950s, he and his wife, Daisy worked and traveled with Bill Lynch's Fair. He had also worked at Windsor Park in Halifax until his retirement in 1986. He is survived by daughters, Thomsenia "Tina" Vacon, Grand Manan, N.B.; Elizabeth Miles, Toronto, Ont.; Geraldine "Geri" Meister, Riverview, N.B.; Rhoda Mosher, Kitchener, Ont.; grandchildren, Jodie and Matthew Meister; great-grandson, Connor Meister; all of Riverview, N.B.; his companion of 44 years, Marg Fleet, Halifax; sisters, Margaret "Jane" White, Halifax; Rosemarie MacDonald, Halifax; Colleen Myra (Fred), Fall River; brother, Robert "Craig" Mosher (Maureen), Halifax; many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by Jenny, Scooter, and Tootsie. He was predeceased by wife, Daisy (Baker) Mosher; son, Butch Mosher; brothers, Albert, Charles Jr., and Earl Mosher; and brother-in-law, Edward MacDonald. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, from 11-2 p.m., followed by a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
