Obituary of Gloria Wheeler

Wheeler, Gloria Lorraine: 72, Halifax, passed away on March 5, 2009 at Glades Lodge Nursing Home. Born in Halifax, NS in 1936, Gloria was the daughter of the late Maxwell and Daisy (Slaunwhite) Jollimore. During the summer months, Gloria could be found camping with her family and friends in the Annapolis Valley. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Albert Wheeler; son Darrell (Michelle), Halifax, daughters Darlene Gilfoy, Halifax, and Julie Hanniman (Dan), Ottawa, brothers, Gary, Halifax, and Robert "Bobby" (Alecta), Halifax, sisters Connie Yeadon (Ronald), Halifax, Nina Thompson (Joe), Halifax, Sandra Cormier (Ronnie), Massachusetts, USA, and Karen Welsh (Tom), Halifax. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Mitchell and Brittany. She was predeceased by sisters, Judy and June, and two sisters in infancy, and son-in-law, Barry Gilfoy. The family would like to thank the staff of Glades Lodge for all their care, compassion, and support, and special thanks to sister-in-law, Malley. Arrangements are under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS (477.5601), where a memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 2:00pm with Rev. Russell Saulnier as clergy. Interment will take place in St. John's Cemetery. Donations may be made to Breast Cancer.
