Obituary of Cyril Anderson

ANDERSON, Cyril John – 65, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2009, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a very long and courageous battle with a brain tumor. Proudly born and raised in Canso, which stayed in his heart as his home, he was the son of the late Bill and Marjorie (Fanning) Anderson. Cyril was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, who will remember him as a loyal, loving, caring and very strong man who knew how to tell a story. He was a fisherman for many years and last worked as a security guard. He is survived by daughters Carrolyn Bilmer (Todd); Donna Anderson, both of Halifax; Wanda Anderson (Chris Joseph), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Justina, Heavenly, Shantia, Shaundelle, Hailie, Eve, Magnus, Braedon and an unborn great-grandchild; brothers, Bill, Halifax; Tom, Toronto; Jim, Lunenburg; Bob, Canso; sisters, Marjie, Canso and Janice, Eastern Passage. Cyril was predeceased by his wife Donna (Boudreau). Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Monday, April 27 from 11 am-1 pm.
