Obituary of John Roach
ROACHE, John Clifford - 80, Halifax, passed away suddenly at home on May 4, 2009. Born on June 2, 1928, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Walter and Mary (Slaunwhite) Roache. He was a dedicated worker for City Field, where he was responsible for garbage collection and snow removal; Farmers Dairy delivering milk, and Metro Transit. John is survived by his children, Mary Marriott (Russell Dalrymple) and their children, Corey Marriott (Angela), Kimberley and Jeffrey Dalrymple; Pam Corbett (Raymond) and their children, Melissa and Crystal Elliott, Paul and Jennifer Corbett; Robert Roache (Marie) and their children, Annemarie Brightman (Timothy) and Jackie Roache; John Roache (Bev); nine great-grandchildren, with another on the way in July; his brother, Warren "Rusty" (Janet Hall), Chester; and sisters, Mary Rickman, Nevada and Marilyn Buckoski, Eastern Passage. John was predeceased by his wife, Blanche (Baker); his parents, brothers, Walter, James "Tex", and Thomas; sister, Sheila. Resting in J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, N.S. (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, at 10 a.m. from Walker Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Patricia Malin as clergy. Interment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family would appreciate remembrances to Canadian Cancer Society.
