Obituary of Gay Jarvis
JARVIS, Gay Maria 46, Halifax, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of Edna Warrington and the late Rodney Warrington. Gay was a dedicated mother, sister, daughter and friend. She worked for the city of Halifax and in her spare time enjoyed painting. She was a member of the Cornwallis Street Baptist Church and of the Army Navy Air Force Club. She was a very spiritual person who found peace and comfort with God, her actions reflected the teachings of Jesus and she encouraged others to follow the word of the Lord Jesus Christ. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by her daughter, Tylene Smith; lifelong friend and father of Tylene, Bert Smith (Cynthia); sisters, Bonnie (William), Wanda (Leroy), Shirley (Isaac); nieces, Raquel, Corshell and Skyla; several aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her best friend, Susan Fletcher. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Thursday and Friday, June 4 and 5, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m. in Cornwallis Street Baptist Church, with Rev. Tracey Grosse and Rev. Maxine Gough officiating . A reception will follow the service at the Army Navy Air Force Club, Maynard Street. The family would like to extend thanks to the palliative care nurses and physicians, family and special friends, who supported Gay in her time of need. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research.
